Dawn of the Roaring 20’s

Dawn of the Roaring 20’s is an editorial project created during the first months of the pandemic, when lockdown had only been in effect for a short time. Inspired by the Art Deco movement of the early 20th century, this project aims to capture the ironic parallels between the two eras. The juxtaposition between the celebratory climate of the early 1900’s and the uncertainty of 2020 is showcased through the placement of 21st century elements in 20th century style. It is both an ironic jab at the contrast between the two times and a message of hope— a hope that we will go dancing once again.
