God Save the Country Punk Music Festival is exactly what America needs in this period of political unrest and social awareness– to blow off some steam listening to music that reflects their emotions. Using elements of design inspired by the punk design movement of the 1980’s, God Save the Country brings punk culture to the modern day American youth. This project showcases promotional materials, admissions items, and merchandise, all maintaining the signature DIY style of punk culture. The goal of the design of this festival is to attract both those who were active in punk culture in the 80’s and today’s politically active youth who are unhappy with the current state of the country. God Save The Country’s image is handmade, unapologetic, rough around the edges– just like America’s youth. This generation isn’t afraid to stand up and speak out, and the design of this music festival reflects that sentiment. Stand up, speak out, and rock on!
